Crunching for Team BiblePay on Rosetta@Home and World Community Grid (WCG). Along with old smartphones (old quad core 1.1Ghz), I've been testing ASUS Tinkerbox and Odroid XU4. The ASUS Tinkerbox is solid. I've had no issues running Android on it. Odroid XU4 is more finicky and reconsidering whether 8 cores is worth the trouble. I'm reading some people run 4 cores on Odroid XU4 anyway. Boinc worked just fine but no projects were listed. I just added the projects by hand using my keyboard to key in the correct URL. I was using a Virtual machine when I was testing this new distribution. At the time I just thought it was a fluke or over-site on the boinc site since I installed AntiX on a virtual platform. You might want to also make a mention back on Boinc that this is not just on only one Distribution but at least on one more than thought since I was using AntiX at the time. When I had AntiX installed which was a few days ago, I had the most current install download from site of AntiX as of 07/15/2017. I have not updated to see if it has been fixed yet.

Thanks.

Timothy Dickey
Team : Palmetto Flats
Administrator

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6923194375102271936.post-79752480824960121972017-06-08T23:32:43.125+10:002017-06-08T23:32:43.125+10:00Second update:

I find that running iGPU tasks significantly slows down the other tasks running on the CPU. It doesn't matter if they are Windows or Linux. This is to do with the design of the iGPU on the i7-6700 and the on-chip cache. Its more efficient to just run CPU tasks on them.Mark G Jameshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07875735039768056705noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6923194375102271936.post-85254016273447466152017-03-13T21:38:17.587+11:002017-03-13T21:38:17.587+11:00I got an encouraging message from Brod regarding m...I got an encouraging message from Brod regarding my Linux journey.
